Saturday 18th September, ENTRY and BASKETING on Thursday 16th September.

Please see race sheet at bottom of page or CLICK HERE(PDF FILE)

Once again High Littleton Flying Club are holding their young bird National race from Tours on Saturday 18th September. This has to be the ultimate young bird challenge, where good birds can and do earn the title "Champion". Open to all the country, this is truly a National, no distance limit, no membership, just turn up on the day, Thursday 16th September, with your entries and that's it.

Now in it's third year, many thought we were crazy to try and organise a National race from Tours for young birds, but so far we have had two good races with some remarkable performances. Who can forget Peiter Oberholster and Neville Procter clocking well up on the result flying well over 400 miles. With members from all over the country in the first few of the result, this race is becoming one of the most eagerly anticipated races of the season.

There is also the Platinum ring race where members are competing for a prize of nearly £2000.

There will be an advert and entry slip in next weeks book, please download your race sheet from www.hlfctours.co.uk and fill in all parts, if you cannot, use your own race sheet and the entry slip that is in the book, making sure you fill in your distance and telephone number. This is important as the secretaries have to enter into the computer all the members details on the day after marking and without distances the job is twice as hard and takes twice as long.

The club has been very fortunate in having fanciers from all over the country volunteer their time to run marking stations and help with the race. Without them there would be no race.

This year Pete Willcox is taking a rest from convoying the birds and Nigel Rigiani is now convoyer. He has a hard act to follow, Pete is one of the best convoyers around and HLFC would like to thank him for his time freely given over the last two years which has resulted in two very good liberations. Nigel also has many years experience convoying birds and we are lucky to have such a good replacement for Pete.
